Kata are structured forms that help develop both physical technique and mental discipline. In Wado-Ryu, each kata teaches movement, posture, timing, balance, awareness and the ability to apply defence and attack with control.
Jutte is known for its powerful character and demands good posture, firm stance work and strong blocking actions. It should be performed with confidence, rather than speed for its own sake.
Students should aim not only to remember the order, but to perform the kata with strong technique, steady rhythm and clear finishing positions throughout.
